The deputy of Cambio Democrático (CD), Fátima Agrazal, denied the alleged hiring of people to attend the protests taking place in Santiago due to the high cost of living and fuel. “I am not willing to start a movement and destroy a province,” she said.

She stressed that her position in this situation has been as a mediator because reaching a social explosion, at this time, is not convenient for anyone.

“As a deputy I will always be on the side of the people, I do not represent nor am I a spokesperson for the government; because I agree with the government, it does not mean that I am an agitator and that I am telling people to go out and do bad things,” he said.

She stressed that she does not agree with the vandalism nor will she sponsor anything negative. “I am not giving money as they say to agitate or promote acts of vandalism, I am totally against it,” Agrazal remarked.
