During this Tuesday in the National Congress the elections were held to see who will preside over the commissions of the Lower House. In this context, the deputy of the Communist Party (PC), Karol Cariolawas elected to head the Constitution, Legislation, Justice and Regulation Commission of the Chamber, becoming the first woman to lead this body.
With eight votes in favor and five against, the PC parliamentarian surpassed the deputy of the Independent Democratic Union (UDI), Gustavo Benavente.

Meanwhile, the deputy of the Socialist Party (PS), Jaime Naranjo, was elected to chair the Finance Commission. In this way, two key commissions for the Government of the President, Gabriel Boricremain in the hands of official parliamentarians.
