Deputy Aníbal Díaz urges the Public Ministry to maintain due process

Diputado Aníbal Díaz insta al Ministerio Público a mantener debido proceso

The deputy of Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) for the National District, Hannibal Diaz, urged the Public Ministry (MP) to be as objective as possible in the Medusa case, where the former Attorney General of the Republic Jean Alain Rodriguez is under measure coercion.

“I want to tell the Public ministry With great humility… I want to ask you to make an effort to be as objective as possible, to uphold the principles of due process”said the legislator.

In addition, he specified that if the MP wants to continue with the research in the Medusa case, he should request a variation of the measure of coercion to house arrest because he understands that it would be “a breath of objectivity.”

He also pointed out that the Dominican people want justice to be done. “An important part of the country wants justice and not revenge”Diaz said.

He added that along with coercion measure variationthe accused must also be sanctioned with an economic guarantee so that the MP demonstrates respect for the law to the country, “without falling into the excess of justice turning into revenge.”

These statements were made by the deputy in the radio program El Gobierno de la Mañana, which is broadcast on Z101.
