Federal deputies announced this Wednesday (8) that they intend to file a request to revoke the mandate of deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) in the Ethics Council for transphobic speech by the parliamentarian in the tribune of the Chamber of Deputies.

Deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP) said that she, along with the party’s bench, will present a request for the impeachment of Nikolas Ferreira’s mandate for the crime of transphobia.
“We are talking about a man, on International Women’s Day, who took our time to speak to bring a prejudiced, criminal, absurd and disgusting speech. Transphobia surpasses freedom of speech, which is guaranteed by parliamentary immunity. Transphobia is a crime in Brazil”, said the deputy, calling the deputy a “kid”.
The PSOL bench reported that it will file a criminal report with the Federal Supreme Court (STF) to hold the deputy responsible for the crime of transphobia.

Wearing a yellow wig, Nikolas Ferreira spoke at the podium and stated that women have lost space, citing sport and beauty contests, for “men who feel like women”.
