During an extraordinary session, convened for Monday noon, the Chamber of Deputies repealed Law 6900/2022, “That creates the fuel price stabilization fund.” The document contemplated subsidies for fuel imports by the state company Petropar.
The bill was enacted on March 25. Part of the financing was going to be achieved with the elimination of fuel vouchers for all congressmen, in addition to other redirections. The document required US$20 million per month to be able to subsidize the 206 service stations of the state oil company.
Discounts were applied to two types of fuels; type III diesel and 93 octane gasoline during the last two weeks.
