The Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) of the Chamber of Deputies received the new proposal from the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) to integrate the Technical Evaluation Committee of aspiring directors of the National Electoral Institute (INE).
This is the political scientist and academic from the Autonomous Metropolitan University (UAM) Araceli Mondragón González, who replaces María del Socorro Puga, questioned for her inexperience in electoral issues and only having a certification in laughter yoga.
In addition to this, the governing body of San Lázaro established that the former director of the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE) Sergio López Ayllón, proposed by the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI), does not meet the characteristics to participate in the committee, among which are impartiality, independence and objectivity.
This is because the member of the advisory council of Mexicans Against Corruption, whose founding director is businessman Claudio X. González, promoted the opposition march on November 13 and has issued opinions in favor of the INE.
Announcement
On the other hand, the General Directorate of Legal Affairs of San Lázaro delivered to Jucopo a first analysis of the ruling of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation (TEPJF) that orders to modify the call for the selection of directors.
The document indicates irregularities committed by the TEPJF when processing the issue, such as having resolved without knowing the detailed report of the Chamber and without having given it the right to a hearing.
Ignacio Mier, president of Jucopo, considered that the upper courtroom fell into excesses, committed irregularities in due process, and directly attacked the Chamber of Deputies. Given the above, the General Directorate of Legal Affairs was asked for a thorough review of the ruling. In particular, the principle of the nothing legal
since an agreement that does not coincide with what the plenary session of San Lázaro voted for was admitted as evidence.
Elizabeth Pérez, vice coordinator of the PRD in San Lázaro, explained that the study will be carried out, to give a response to the sentence.
not to speculate let’s wait
Until the review is over and next Monday afternoon, it will be possible to say in strict adherence to the law, what is appropriate, pointed out Mier, also coordinator of the Morena deputies.
Pérez Valdez pointed out, however, that the Chamber is constitutionally obliged to abide by the court’s resolution, but to determine its scope and make determinations in this regard, the study will be carried out. He stressed that procedural failures were detected by the judicial authority.
The PRD member ruled out that because of the court’s ruling, the election of the four INE directors will be delayed, since the order of the magistrates left the dates of the process intact.
Mier said that in order to approve the new call to participate in the definition of the electoral advisers, it will not be necessary to call a special session in San Lázaro, since this can be done in February when the regular session begins.
Jucopo agreed to make a position on the undue meddling
of the upper room against San Lázaro.
