More than 40 deputies from the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) expressed their interest that the member of the Executive Board, Eddy Olivareswhoever presides over that political organization for the next convention.
The legislators of the ruling party explained the reasons why they understand that Olivares should preside over the PRM.
The congressmen expressed their confidence in the member of the Central Electoral Board, because he has always been receptive and in solidarity with the militancy and the middle party leaders, “Eddy always had the doors of his office open so that all the leaders could go to talk with him in search of solutions to our problems, and the answer was always of total support”, they explained.
They also highlighted Olivares’ status as a great conciliator and his political background, coming from the base of the party, which will contribute to the strengthening of the parties and their good progress in keeping with the pace of the government so that the PRM can stay in the power beyond 2024.
“We have a president who listens to the people, and works for the people; and the party must go in the same direction: listening to the leaders and helping them solve their problems, the President needs the government and the party to walk hand in hand, in order to continue governing the country, not until 2028, but much longer. years there,” said the officials.
The congressmen spoke of the suitability of maintaining the connection between the base, the middle leaders and the government, to guarantee retaining power and being able to continue working together to continue guiding the country on the right path.
They highlighted that the former magistrate of the Central Electoral Board has more than enough conditions to lead the party, and spoke of his capacity, loyalty, commitment, courage and respect, which they expressed generates confidence in all the PRM leadership in the country and abroad.
In thanking the deputies for their invitation, Eddy Olivares recalled the decisive role played by the bases of a party, highlighting the effort and sacrifice of politicians who put their lives, health, economic and even family stability at risk, in search of work for democracy.
He reiterated his commitment to society, the Dominican people and the Perreme leadership, to continue the legacy of José Francisco Peña Gómez, to responsibly honor the noblest interests and desires in the field of human rights.
Olivares is a conciliator who has always maintained a close relationship with the deputies, who expressed their desire for him to aspire to the presidency of the party, since he would be a conciliatory entity between the base, the middle leadership, the government and the party. .
The Modern Revolutionary Party plans to organize its regular convention in June to choose the leadership of that political institution.
