Deputies in Argentina will investigate Puma plan

The delegation of deputies of the National Assembly (AN) who are in Argentina, held a meeting on Tuesday in Buenos Aires with the vice president of the Board of Directors of the Parliament of the Common Market of the South (Parlasur), Óscar Laborde, and other parliamentarians from the regional bloc.

This Special Commission of the AN, coordinated by deputy Blanca Eekhout, fulfills the mission of asking the Argentine authorities to investigate Operation Puma sponsored by former president Mauricio Macri, under the tutelage of the Department of State of the Government of the United States. States, with the intention of executing a military action in Venezuela, refers a press release.

In the meeting with the Parlasur parliamentarians, the Venezuelan delegation, also made up of deputy María Chávez and deputy Luis Martínez, followed the guidelines of the highest authority of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, to resume the full participation of the people through the Legislative Power in meeting spaces and in unity with the peoples of America.

Deputy Eekhout expressed that they have worked with Parlasur and the Argentine Senate to achieve the necessary unity and the strengthening of ties, “precisely in this 2022 when the bicentennial of the meeting of San Martín and Bolívar will be celebrated.” She added that today, more than ever, in the face of the threats of war, the unity of the peoples are the bonds that will allow us to advance and continue to be sovereign countries.

Parlasur parliamentarians Carlos López López, Gastón Harispe, Pablo Vilas and Jorge Vanossi also participated in the meeting. For his part, Laborde indicated that the Argentine justice has taken action on the matter in the face of the serious denunciation of the collaboration and preparation of a military intervention by several countries, including Argentina, in Venezuela.

He described the fact as serious, not only because of the implication in the fate of a country, “but this has a history of what happened in Bolivia.” Regarding the re-entry of the AN of Venezuela to Parlasur, he pointed out that the Plenary of this bloc will deal with the subject shortly. “In this multipolar world, America has to be a pole, and that will only be achieved if we walk the path of the Great Homeland,” he stressed.
