Deputies from Venezuela, Colombia and Brazil installed this Monday the First Meeting of Young Parliamentarians for Peace and Integration of Our America, in Caracas, with the aim of strengthening cooperation ties between these nations and discussing various issues of regional interest.
The National Assembly (AN/Parliament) of Venezuela reported, through its Twitter account, the installation of this body in which “the youth parliamentarians of these sister countries assume the generational commitment to set meeting points and agendas that guarantee to future generations spaces for social integration”.

The Chavista deputy and second vice president of the AN, america perezexplained that the meeting’s agenda includes the formation of four working groups to discuss the peace border, youth parliamentarianism, gender equality and equity, and the defense of the Amazon.
“We have summoned the parliamentarians of these countries to forge cooperation ties that allow us to counteract those who intend to break in against the peace of the countries in the region,” said Pérez, quoted in a statement by the AN.
For her part, Colombian congresswoman María Fernanda Carrascal celebrated the initiative of this parliamentary meeting and reaffirmed Colombia’s commitment to maintain a common agenda with Venezuela and promote the creation of a multilateral fund that will allow progress in the protection of the Amazon.
During their visit to Venezuela, the Colombian and Brazilian parliamentarians will tour various places in the company of their Venezuelan colleagues, in order to exchange experiences.
