Deputies condemn Spain's interference in ignoring Maduro's victory

During the debate held this Wednesday in the plenary session of the National Assembly, the deputies unanimously repudiated the intentions of the Spanish government to ignore the re-election of President Nicolás Maduro after the elections of July 28.

Deputy Hermann Escarrá believes that Venezuela must prevent the extreme right from advancing its coup plans against the Republic, and expressed his support for the proposal of the head of Parliament, Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, to urge the National Government to break diplomatic, consular and commercial relations with Spain.

The parliamentarian explained that the decision of the Spanish Congress of Deputies to ignore the popular victory of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, in the elections of July 28, is an act of intervention and interference that must be rejected and he believes that respect must be demanded for the Venezuelan people who re-elected Maduro.

For Deputy Roy Daza, Spain’s interference in Venezuelan affairs is barbaric and irresponsible. He expressed this on Wednesday at the end of the extraordinary session of the National Assembly (AN) where the decision of the Spanish Congress to ignore the popular victory of President Nicolás Maduro on July 28 was debated.

Daza reported that the Permanent Commission on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration will meet this Thursday at 11:00 a.m. to draft the resolution through which they will request the National Executive to break diplomatic, consular and commercial relations with the Kingdom of Spain.

Spain intends to take over Venezuela’s powers

Deputy Fernando Bastidas believes that Spain intends to assume Venezuela’s powers and repeat the coup actions of 2019. He stated this at the end of the extraordinary session on Wednesday, where the National Assembly rejected the gross interference of the Spanish far right.

Bastidas assured that Venezuela will not allow the Spanish parliament to assume a position in which they support a subject who was defeated in the presidential elections of July 28, as was Edmundo González Urrutia.

“The actions of the Spanish Congress violate the Treaty of Independence of Venezuela, signed by both nations more than 200 years ago,” said this Wednesday the first vice president of the Permanent Commission of Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration, deputy Ilenia Medina (PPT/National), who believes that the government of Spain has not valued the impertinence and illegality that it committed against International Law.

The parliamentarian asserted that no country in the world has a constitution that establishes that heads of state, or other figures of power, can be appointed in another nation. “Since we achieved freedom and independence, more than 200 years ago, Spain cannot do that here,” she stressed.

Medina added that these attacks, such as the one by the Spanish Congress to reject the popular reelection of Nicolás Maduro, are against the Spanish people themselves. He pointed out that an important group of Spanish deputies made the unilateral decision to violate the spirit of the majority of Venezuelans.

For his part, Deputy Jorge Luis Chirinos (PSUV/Falcón) warned on Wednesday that Spain’s interference in Venezuelan affairs could affect the oil alliance between the two countries, specifically between the Spanish multinational energy and petrochemical company Repsol and the state-owned Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA).

The Assembly will respond to Spanish colonialist conduct

Deputy Saúl Ortega (PSUV/Carabobo) warned that the National Assembly (AN) of Venezuela will respond forcefully to the colonialist, NATOist and Atlanticist conduct of the Spanish government.

“We don’t care what the Spanish Congress does, because they are not the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,” said deputy Jesús Suárez Chourio (PSUV/ Apure)

He maintained that Venezuelans are free, sovereign and independent, and have a Constitution made by the people, in which an Electoral Power is considered for internal electoral matters.

Suárez Chourio, who chairs the Permanent Commission for National Security and Defense, questioned the Spanish parliamentarians, who, with their airs of monarchy and tamers, followed the farce of the Venezuelan far right.

Indigenous Parliament calls the decision rude and interventionist

The Venezuelan chapter of the Indigenous Parliament of America (PIA) rejects the rude and interventionist decision of the Spanish Congress of Deputies to ignore the popular victory of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, in the elections of July 28.

The president of the PIA, deputy Kariela Aray, emphasized that the sovereignty, independence and self-determination of the Venezuelan people are non-negotiable. “On July 28, the Venezuelan people spoke and made it clear that their president is Nicolás Maduro Moros.” She added that any attempt at violence or interference will be rejected.
