Deputies to the Congress of the Republic They consider it necessary that the Chamber of Accounts grant an extension so that most legislators have time to submit their asset declarations, a deadline that expires next Monday, the 16th.
The deadline for submitting documentation is until the aforementioned date, according to the provisions of the Law that regulates the Declaration of Assets of 2014 and its implementing Regulations of 2016.
The deputy Adelso Rubenfrom Dajabón, expressed concern because beyond a simple accountability, the control body has complicated the presentation with new documentation.

He estimated that the CCRD should simplify the procedure since the declaration is determined by a simple formula, which is to present what a person has, subtract what is owed, which results in the net worth, in this case, of each elected official.
He criticized the requirement that elected officials provide information such as their own and their siblings’ birth certificates, spouse, passport, credit cards, among others.
He pointed out that in his particular case it would be impossible to obtain documents from his brothers and their wives, since he has 39 brothers, some of whom live outside the national territory and with whom he has no contact.
Meanwhile, the national deputy Peter Martinezdescribed as an excess of zeal or revenge on the part of the Chamber of Accounts, in terms of the demand for documentation that is not the usual one.
Deputy Martínez recalls that this body was in the sights of society and of the National Congress itself, just a few months ago.
However, he considered that there must be transparency, so he suggests to his fellow legislators to put in the hands of the Chamber of Accounts (CCRD)information about their assets.
