The Chamber of Deputies approved by 469 votes in favor and two abstentions a reform to the Law of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), so that it can receive anonymous complaints and initiate the corresponding investigation.

The morenista Roberto Hernández Tapia argued, with data from the organization Impunidad Cero, that of every 100 crimes committed, 6.4 are reported and of every 100 reported, 14 are resolved. This means that the probability that a crime will be solved is only 0.9 per hundred.

He added that the National Institute of Statistics and Geography estimated that in 2019 11 percent of all crimes were reported, for which the Public Ministry opened an investigation folder in 69.1 percent of cases. These facts cause nearly 90 percent of citizens to distrust these institutions.
