From this Monday the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB) deployed in La Gran Sabana, in Bolívar state, Operation Roraima 2022 against illegal mining, human trafficking and drug trafficking actions committed by irregular groups, reported the head of the FANB Strategic Operational Command (Ceofanb), Domingo Hernández Larez.
Through a message on his account on the social network Twitter, Hernández Lárez specified that these criminal acts are committed by “armed groups in National Parks and Forest Reserves, considered as protected areas by the State.”
“In La Gran Sabana, Bolívar state #FANB deployed in the Operation Roraima 2022 against illegal mining, human trafficking and drug trafficking by armed criminal groups in National Parks and Forest Reserves, considered as protected areas by the State,” he posted on Twitter.
In this regard, the Chief of Ceofanb stressed that the FANB troops remain deployed in Canaima “dismantling illegal mining camps. In no case will activities that distort or cause irreversible damage to these Specially Protected Areas be allowed.
The actions of the FANB in Bolívar state are carried out in compliance with the orders of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who urged the elimination of all structures and irregular groups that intend to threaten the sovereignty of the country.
«FANB in compliance with the orders of our Cmdte. En Jefe @NicolasMaduro remains deployed in the Edo Bolívar in the disabling of clandestine tracks and dismantling of illegal mining camps that arbitrarily and illegally operate in the Canaima National Park”, recalled Hernández Lárez.
Canaima: Ancestral Park and vegetal lung
The FANB in its fight to protect the country’s natural reserves remains active carrying out operations in the Bolívar state, to preserve the ecosystem and environment.
«canaima It is an Ancestral Natural Park, the vegetal lung of humanity and future generations, a forest and water reservoir,” stressed Hernández Lárez.
Given this premise, the FANB will continue to be deployed in security and defense missions to protect the biome against illegal mining “and will legally intervene in all structures with their operators,” he said on Twitter.
In addition, the FANB, with the objective of providing a healthy environment for the original peoples, will maintain operations in La Gran Sabana to preserve the country’s natural reserves.
“Indigenous peoples and communities have the right to live in an ecologically healthy environment, helping to protect the environment and natural resources, they should not be complicit in the depredation of National Parks, water reserves and areas of ecological importance,” he added.
Registration to practice artisanal mining
All those citizens whose purpose is to work in artisanal mining must register in the registry kept by the Fiscal Inspectorate, explained the head of Ceofanb, Domingo Hernández Lárez.
It indicated that “those who aspire to practice artisanal mining must register in the registry kept by the competent Fiscal Inspectorate of the CVM, according to the assigned territorial ordering, which will in no way be limited to National Parks protected by the State.”
He added that “mining rights are temporary and will be exercised within the geographical limits assigned according to the social contract, never arbitrarily in National Parks,” Hernández Lárez stressed.
Likewise, he pointed out that the Venezuelan State is the guarantor of planning and drawing up plans for rational mining exploitation, without destroying the environment.
“The State will plan and develop plans for rational mining exploration without detriment to the environment in an orderly and scientific manner,” he said.
In this regard, he stressed that “criminal groups that arbitrarily break into protected areas such as Forests and National Parks will be legally intervened.”
