Departures by bus from Havana to Bayamo and Manzanillo are suspended

The National Bus Company suspended this Saturday the departures by bus from Havana to Bayamo and Manzanillo, and those scheduled from these locations to the capital due to the deterioration of the infrastructure and services caused by the rainy in eastern Cuba.

When transportation is restored, the company clarifies, passengers with reservations included during the suspension will be prioritized.

Likewise, those who do not wish to travel will receive one hundred percent of the value of the ticket up to 15 days after the date of restoration of services.

The rains have caused extensive damage to roads, access roads, homes and state infrastructure, as well as agricultural areas.

Unprecedented river overflows and landslides occurred at various points in the east.

Unprecedented floods leave desolate panorama in central and eastern Cuba

This Saturday, the probability of rain will be higher in the central region, which will become strong and locally intense.

The National General Staff of the Civil Defense urged in its most recent note to remain vigilant and comply with the instructions of the authorities.

The agency warns of the increase in risk levels in the territories “due to the saturation of the soil, the impact caused by the floods and the persistence of rainfall in the coming hours.”
