Departmental prosecutor revokes the determination of his subordinate, after suspicions that the death of the announcer could be femicide

The departmental prosecutor of Santa Cruz, Roger Mariaca, reported this Thursday that An investigation was launched into the alleged femicide of radio host Diana Porcel, after finding evidence that suggests that the crime was committed. He added that a commission of prosecutors was formed to clarify this fact.

“My person has revoked the determination of the incumbent prosecutor who dismissed the complaint for femicide of Mrs. Diana Porcel. Thus, in a well-founded manner, through a hierarchical resolution, an investigation has been ordered for the crime of femicide, that is, to date it already has a functional address”, Mariaca explained.

This decision comes after the announcer’s family, through her defense attorney, filed a memorial to challenge the first resolution of the Public Ministry, which claimed that Diana’s death was a suicide. In addition, they pointed out that the young woman’s body would have some injuries, the product of an assault and they accused her partner as the alleged perpetrator.

The departmental prosecutor decided cForm a commission of prosecutors so that they can investigate in a “transparent and accurate” manner the fact and determine the first guidelines and requirements that correspond, respecting the “equality of parties and the presumption of innocence”.

Likewise, Mariaca pointed out that some photographs and statements have been collected of friends and family that show the situation in which Diana was, days before her death.
