The Departmental Legislative Assembly of Santa Cruz moved this Saturday to the municipality of San Ignacio de Velasco, where he held an extraordinary session as a tribute to the 274 years of foundation of the Jesuit mission that welcomes this municipality, which occurred on July 31, 1748.
The assembly members representing this region, Yelly Baldivieso and Ronny Justiniano, made arrangements to take this session to San Ignacio whereHe passed five laws in his favor.
The first declared Material and Intangible Cultural and Historical Heritage to the Chiquitano and Missionary Indigenous Councils of this municipality; Radio station Juan XXIII was also declared a patrimony. The third law declared Movable Property and Missionary Religious Objects of the Cathedral heritage.
Another law declared the community of El Porvenir as the departmental capital of Asaí; and the last law was the declaration of priority and departmental public necessity the construction of the San Ignacio de Velasco highway-Ivory-Limit with the Republic of Brazil.
Zvonko Matkovic, president of the Santa Cruz assembly, commented that it is the first time that this body goes to session in a province and that this is important to “get closer to the people”. Matkovic added that this Saturday they had the pleasure of bringing to San Ignacio different laws, different projects so that the province can continue to benefit.
“Today their art and culture have been recognized, as well as the association of people with disabilities, Cipedis; to the BFC refrigerator that generates 1,500 jobs here in the regionand also to an educational unit with 120 years of history”, said Matkovic.
