The Ministry of Health Arbovirus Monitoring Panel shows an increase in dengue cases this week in the state of São Paulo. The cases rose from 82 thousand to 99 thousand in the state and deaths from 14 to 28. 
Throughout the country, the total probable cases in the country was from 139 thousand to 169 thousand cases, with an increase of 21 to 37 deaths in three days.
The deaths in research in Brazil were 160 on Monday and 200 today, of which 138 are in São Paulo.
In a press conference on the afternoon of Thursday (30), the Ministry of Health attributed the increase of cases to the circulation of dengue serotype 3, expanding since July last year. “According to SVSA’s deputy secretary, this virus variant has been decisive in increasing the number of infections, especially in São Paulo and, to a lesser extent, in Paraná.”
State data
Monitoring by the State Department of Health indicates 102,000 probable cases, with 45,000 already confirmed. The folder confirms 21 deaths, of which 11 people over 65 years old.
In the state there are already 44 municipalities that decreed a state of emergency. On Monday there were 37. The increase may reflect greater engagement of the municipalities, with the Federal and State Governments, which constituted surveillance centers dedicated to actions against dengue on January 9 and 23, respectively.
