On Monday, August 2 last year, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) began work on the Tres Bocas crossing. It is a tunnel passage and a roundabout.
Despite the fact that in December they announced that the works had already registered an advance of 64%, the frontists point out that the works are far from being finished. In addition, they affirm that they have considerable losses due to the reduction of their clients.
Because of this, they called for a demonstration in the morning hours of Thursday. One of the requests is the payment of compensation. However, from the road portfolio they allege that the National Congress must regulate Law 5389 to initiate payments.

Torres regrets that the Public Works authorities do not approach to communicate anything. Therefore, Torres offered his services, since he has machinery to work while the works are in progress. However, he received no answers.
Ricardo González, another front man located on Avelino Martínez Avenue, has a motorcycle workshop and sells motorcycle parts. Before the beginning of the works, with the closing of the streets, the income stopped.
“When it rains it is a disaster. There is a total mess. It affected a lot. We concluded that the people who manage the works do not work very well. They should work during the week when there is not so much traffic and on weekends, ”he said.
For González, the works will continue for at least one more year. Despite the promises of the MOPC that they will only last until the month of August.
MORE OF THE WORKS
The project contemplates an overpass of the South Access Route through the construction of a tunnel 135 meters long, keeping the rest of the movements channeled through a roundabout without traffic light regulation.
Added to this is the improvement of Colonia Elisa Street, the main direct intersection connection with the cities of Fernando de la Mora, Villa Elisa, Ñemby and San Antonio, respectively.
