“Legal action seeks to protect collective rights from Colombians who would be affected” by decisions about Israel.
The Democratic Center, the main opposition party, rejected the decision made by President Gustavo Petro to expel the entire diplomatic delegation from Colombia that remains in the country and that is why announced legal actions.
Petro adopted this determination after information was known about the alleged arrest of two Colombian citizens who are part of the Global Sumud flotilla, Its purpose is to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The community will file a popular action this Thursday against Petro, with which it seeks to safeguard the rights of Colombian citizens who may be affected by the expulsion of the Israelis.
“The Democratic Center will file a popular action tomorrow against President Gustavo Petro Before the decision to expel the entire diplomatic delegation of Israel from the country in Colombia, ”he said.
As explained by the community, “Legal action seeks to protect collective rights from Colombians who would be affected following this decision that seriously threatens relations between the two nations.”
For Petro, the arrest of this flotilla that has the mission of bringing humanitarian aid to Gaza, could be constituted as “a new international crime of Netanyahu.”

At the same time, The Colombian head of state called to be denounced immediately the Free Trade Agreement that Colombia has signed with Israel.
The Colombian president lost his visa to the United States after having participated in New York in a demonstration in favor of Palestine, in which he invited North American soldiers not to obey the orders given by President Donald Trump.
