Democratic Alliance proposes national pact to guarantee governability in Venezuela

Opposition deputy Timoteo Zambrano, president of the Foreign Policy Commission of the National Assembly (AN), stated that the Democratic Alliance has raised the need for a great national pact that would guarantee governability and political alternation in Venezuela.

“It is important that dialogue enters as an alternative to give greater stability to the country,” said the parliamentarian, accompanied by deputies Bernabé Gutiérrez, Juan Carlos Alvarado and José Gregorio Correa.

Zambrano assured that this proposal will be discussed in the next meetings of the Commission for Democratic Coexistence and Peace, as part of the efforts to consolidate a broad dialogue between the different sectors of the country.

A 10 to 15 year pact for governability

Zambrano highlighted that the proposal seeks to establish a framework of political stability that transcends immediate situations and allows the country to advance in a horizon of sustained governance. “Today we have the experience after different dialogues to convene a long-term pact, to give it governability and all the necessary political elements,” said the deputy, emphasizing that the initiative must include clear commitments of alternation and institutional respect.

Commission for Democratic Coexistence and Peace

The parliamentarian guaranteed that the proposal will be presented at the next meetings of the Commission for Democratic Coexistence and Peace, a space that seeks to integrate various political sectors in a process of national dialogue. The work agenda scheduled for February 10 includes the discussion of the main issues that could be part of the pact, with the aim of building consensus that strengthens democratic stability.

Call to all political sectors

Zambrano insisted that the success of the pact depends on the participation of all political and social forces in the country. “All sectors must row together to achieve that great pact that the country needs,” he said. The deputy reiterated that the Democratic Alliance is committed to promoting an agreement that transcends differences and that lays the foundations for a stable political future with alternation.
