Hugo Dellien qualified for the Santiago Challenger quarterfinals after beating the Italian Andrea Vavassori this Wednesday in the round of 16: 7-5, 4-6 and 7-6(2). His next rival will be another Italian, Franco Agamenone.
He Bolivian continues to defend the title at a steady pace which he won last year.
The center court of the Club Deportivo Manquehue received the Dellien’s match with Vavassori.
The first set was quite even, as both broke serve in the first two games.
The score equality was maintained until 5-5 because the Trinidadian-born won in his service and then he broke the Italian’s serve again to win.
on the second court Vavassori broke the Bolivian’s serve twice, in the first and seventh games, and despite having his serve broken once, he managed to win to leave the score level at 1-1.
The third set was the most even of all because apart from reaching the tie break (sudden death) both broke their service on a couple of occasions.
