This Saturday, the delivery room of the José Gregorio Hernández Hospital, located in the Magallanes de Catia, Sucre parish of Caracas, was reopened.
In statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the head of the Government of the Capital District, Nahum Fernández, explained that the work was carried out together with the Community Military Brigades (Bricomiles).
Among the recovery works – he detailed – is the recovery of 1,600 square meters, which include four operating rooms and two postnatal rooms.
This hospital serves approximately 400,000 inhabitants of the parish, which is equivalent to 150,000 families.
Similarly, all areas have state-of-the-art equipment.
Work was also done on the installation of lighting, air conditioning, as well as the installation of antibacterial floors.
The mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, also participated in the activity, who indicated that these spaces are “to give life and health.”
«Here many women give life and here they will be attended to 100%. Delivering spaces to give life and health. There are four operating rooms available, they are impeccable, “said the mayoress.
During the day, there was a delivery day of layettes to the women who were in the health center.
It should be remembered that the recovery of all health centers is a priority for the National Government, which set a goal that by the end of 2022, more than 90% of hospitals and health centers must be fully rehabilitated.
