Alvaro Delgado, candidate of the National Partyhighlighted during the National Youth Congress in Durazno the “management capacity” of his party and established a marked contrast with the proposal of the Broad Front.

In his speech, Álvaro Delgado stressed the importance of choosing between “freedom” and what he described as a “controlling logic” associated with the Frente Amplio.
“The alternative is between freedom and the logic of the Broad Front, of Big Brother, which wants to control everything”emphasized the former leader of the Luis Lacalle Pou government. Delgado assured that the National Party has a solid track record to prove, pointing out that it is no longer about “dreams and expectations”, but about “management and results”.
Delgado avoids any mention of the many cases of corruption that have overshadowed the administration of which he was a part, until he resigned to devote himself fully to his intentions of becoming president. Most of these officials or former officials were close associates of Lacalle Pou’s entourage, but now their names seem to have been erased from all possible references.
