In the context of differences between the head of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Mario Delgado Carrillo, and the general director of Educational Materials of that agency, Marx Arriaga, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted that “no one is the bearer of the absolute truth in the Fourth Transformation,” since “that corresponds to the people.”
During her morning press conference, the president stated that Delgado Carrillo “is doing a very good job,” and when asked if she will keep Arriaga in office, she responded: “It will depend on him (…) it is good that there are different ideas, what is important is that we work as a team.”
Last week, the head of the SEP defended the New Mexican School as a State policy, after Arriaga called for organizing “real counterweights against the hegemonic powers and political operators.” He also asserted that there are attempts to privatize education.
Asked about it in the morning at the National Palace, Sheinbaum Pardo questioned: “What internal rebellion?”, and when remembering that the movement to which she belongs has always fought for the right to education, she maintained that now it is fighting even more forcefully.

Immediately, the President stressed: “a person cannot be the bearer of the ideas of the Fourth Transformation. Do you know who the only one is?, the people of Mexico. I have always said it, the legacy of President López Obrador is in the people.
“The work we do, who judges it? The people. And the people are happy with the work we are doing, if not, imagine. So, no one is the bearer of the absolute truth of the Fourth Transformation,” he asserted.
However, he acknowledged that “there is internal debate, it is normal, but the SEP has to fulfill a function, which is the right to education, and Mario Delgado is doing a very good job.”
He insisted that “there are those who disagree, but we all have to work as a team.”
