As of March 6, the 300 delegates, who were chosen in the elections of the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca, on February 13, will have the mission of electing the new Board of Directors of the General Congress.
According to the Minister of Government, Janaina Tewaney, this electoral process, which is the first to be carried out legitimately in almost more than a decade, is not over yet, since the more than 300 delegates must meet from March 6 to 10 to elect to the new Board of Directors.
¨They are going to elect the new president of the General Congress of the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca, who is the legal representative of the Comarca¨ he said, emphasizing that this election is very important because all development projects require the participation, approval and consensus of the General Congress of the Region.
In the past elections, three regional chiefs were also elected ( ÑokriboKodri and Nidri) and nine local chiefs.
¨We carried out an act of consensus and dialogue, which was not easy, but it was inclusive, since it included young people and women¨, he pointed out.
