Delcy thanks Lula and the Brazilian people for their support and solidarity

The interim president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, posted, this Friday (9), a message of “special gratitude” to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the Brazilian people for their support and solidarity “in the most critical moments after the aggression suffered”. In addition to thanking the Brazilians, Delcy highlighted having spoken with Lula, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, and the prime minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez.

“During these meetings, I provided detailed information about the armed attacks against our territory, which resulted in the deaths of more than 100 civilians and military personnel,” said Delcy Rodríguez.

Diplomacy

She said she reaffirmed to the heads of Government that Venezuela will “confront this aggression through diplomatic channels”, as the “only way” to defend sovereignty and preserve peace.

Delcy highlighted that she dealt with them about what she called “serious violations of international law, including the violation of immunity from jurisdiction” against Maduro and the first lady.

The interim president stated that the conversations advanced towards the need for a bilateral cooperation agenda on respect for international law, the sovereignty of States and dialogue between peoples.

In relation to the Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, Delcy highlighted that the two nations are committed to moving forward “to face and resolve the problems that affect us in common, based on mutual respect and regional cooperation”.

Regarding contact with Spaniard Pedro Sánchez, the Venezuelan interim president thanked him for his “courageous position” in condemning the aggression against Venezuela. “I expressed our interest in working together on a broad bilateral agenda that is beneficial to both our people and our governments.”

Another thank you from the interim president, in yet another post, was addressed to the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. “The Bolivarian government recognizes and values ​​your willingness to contribute to the construction of a work and dialogue agenda between the United States and Venezuela.”
