Delcy Rodriguezvice president of Venezuela, demanded this Saturday that they release Nicolas Madurowho was arrested and sent to New York to be tried for crimes related to drug trafficking.
“We demand the immediate release of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, the only president of Venezuela. Here is the most important high command of the Venezuelan State, the military high command, of the state and of the Council of Vice Presidents”he pointed out.
Rodríguez assured that the people were activated in the streets after the call that Maduro recently made.
The official convened a National Defense Council, in a statement in which she was accompanied by her brother, Jorge Rodríguez, president of the National Assembly. In addition to other figures of Chavismo such as Diosdado Cabello, Minister of the Interior and Vladimir Padrino López, head of the Defense portfolio.
“What is being done to Venezuela is barbaric”denounced Rodríguez.
In addition to this, he ordered the activation of a decree of external shock for control of the country. This document, which Maduro approved, helps “protect the rights of the population, the full functioning of republican institutions and immediately move to armed struggle.”
With his message, he confirmed that he is still in the country and discards unofficial information that claimed that he had fled to Russia.
A few hours ago, Donald Trump assured in a press conference that Marco Rubio, Secretary of State of the US government, spoke with Rodríguez and that the Venezuelan assured him that they would do what the United States asked.
However, Rodríguez’s response was totally far from this assertion, since he insisted on the defense of the country by the Armed Forces.
