The acting president Delcy Rodríguez this Wednesday urged the country’s workers to cohesion and national unity to advance the economic growth of the Homeland, after the military aggression perpetrated by the United States on January 3.
“I know the path we have been following in economic recovery for our country, but I once again call on you to national unity, to the cohesion of all workers so that we continue on the path of economic growth, development and support for the social happiness of our people,” said Rodríguez.
In that sense, he highlighted the importance of achieving peace and social stability in the country so that “hope remains in every working family in Venezuela; that hope that we will have them back (referring to President Nicolás Maduro and the first lady, Cilia Flores, kidnapped in the US), but also the hope of building a homeland that allows us the happiness and future of our sons and daughters.
The president in charge also reiterated her support for the entire working and union class that lives in the country and requested that everything that emanates from the workers’ constituent “express and mean what our father Liberator Simón Bolívar was in Angostura. May his concept of social justice, social equity, and inclusion be the universal Bolivarian doctrine.
«I hope that from this labor constituent we can have a law, a law that expresses and means what our father Liberator Simón Bolívar was in Angostura. That your concept of social justice, of social equity, of inclusion, that the Universal Bolivarian Doctrine be in this new framework that you are developing from the labor constituent and that this labor constituent provides a framework for the happiness of our people,” Rodríguez said.
He said that President Nicolás Maduro has had in the workers a reference of what the struggle is, “that he has had in you an example of what perseverance is.”
He stressed that the working people have not stopped at any time in their contribution to the economic and social stability of the country, in which the working family of Venezuela can build a homeland that allows them to live in happiness.
Rodríguez denounced the criminal blockade that impacts the Venezuelan workforce. He highlighted that thanks to the efforts of the country’s workers, the labor constituent project will be consolidated, which will overthrow the unilateral coercive measures that impact the sector.
«A people that has been unjustly subjected to a criminal blockade, an illegitimate blockade, but we can say: «Thanks to the efforts of the country’s workers. Thanks to the sacrifice of the country’s workers, today we give Venezuela this new union.”
The working class remains committed to the progress of the country
The Minister for Labor, Eduardo Piñate, highlighted that the working class remains committed to the progress of the country and the lines drawn by the acting president Delcy Rodríguez.
He stressed the importance of preserving unity “to obtain victory.” He stressed that the door should not be left open to the “enemy’s divisional campaign, with its psychological operations and sowing of weeds.”
In this sense, he stressed that the firmness demonstrated by the people is not a minor fact, which is why he ratified the will to “defend production and work centers to guarantee the normality of the country.”
For his part, Franklin Rondón, from the Central of Public Sector Workers, highlighted the historical continuity of the struggle: “We are the same ones who took to the streets in 2002 to achieve the return of Chávez. We are also the same ones who went out during the oil strike, the guarimbas, the sanctions, the shortages and all the threats against the people… so we are the same ones who will achieve the return of Nicolás Maduro.”
Jacobo Torres de León Decoration
Wills Rangel announced the creation of a decoration called “Jacobo Torres de León”, in memory of the union leader who died last year. This medal seeks to honor the sacrifice of the Venezuelan and Cuban workers who fell during the attack by US military forces on January 3.
He reported that a Manifesto in honor of the Cuban martyrs will be formally delivered at the Cuban Embassy in Caracas, as a symbol of the unbreakable brotherhood between both nations in the face of external aggression.
Being Venezuelan is not asking for bombings, it is loving the country
For his part, the mobilization secretary of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv) Nahum Fernández assured that being Venezuelan is not the one who asks for bombings, but rather the one who loves his country.
«Being Venezuelans are not those who ask that your country be bombed. Being Venezuelan is not one who asks a power to invade your country; Come here and see what it’s like to be Venezuelan. To be Venezuelan is to love Venezuela, it is to be loyal to Venezuela and take to the streets defending the world,” he emphasized.
Likewise, Fernández stated that “some actors push to see who has more war power. Venezuela has never looked for a way to display a nuclear bomb; “We do not manufacture long-range missiles nor are we seeking to do so, because it is a country of peace.”
Fernández also highlighted the humility and humanity that President Nicolás Maduro and the first lady, Cilia Flores, possess. “The president’s humility remains the same, the president’s forms, commitments and loyalty remain the same,” and he highlighted that the union movements know him very well, because he fought with them against the structure of the Central Workers of Venezuela (CTV).
