The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, communicated through her twitter account that President Nicolás Maduro was informed by his medical staff that he had tested positive for covid, which is why he canceled his attendance at the Ibero-American Summit.
However, the senior official stressed that two more tests were later applied to the head of state, in which it was negative. Rodríguez commented that it was apparently a “false positive.”
“Yesterday, Pdte @NicolasMaduro was informed by his doctors of a positive PCR COVID result. This led to the suspension of his participation in the Ibero-American Summit. Two tests have been performed today with negative results. Everything indicates that it was a false positive ”, was the full message of the vice president on the social network.
It should be noted that according to the information provided by the head of state’s medical report, President Maduro is in perfect health, which is why he continues with his work agenda on Venezuelan soil.
The representation of Venezuela at the Ibero-American Summit continues in the hands of the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, who is already in the Dominican Republic.
