The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, inspected the Ana María Campos Petrochemical Complex and the Bajo Grande Thermoelectric Plant, to “optimize processes”
The Minister of Hydrocarbons (formerly Petroleum) and Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, visited the Western Basin, in the state of Zulia, to inspect the Ana María Campos Petrochemical Complex and the Bajo Grande Thermoelectric Plant and evaluate the capacities of productive systems.
According to what was published on the official’s Instagram account, the tour had the objective of “optimizing processes.”
Rodríguez took advantage of the occasion to congratulate the workers of the hydrocarbon sector for their dedication and commitment against those who seek to “attack and harm” this strategic sector.
“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we wish a Merry Christmas to the workers of the hydrocarbons industry and thanked them for their hard work and commitment against those who seek to attack and harm this strategic sector,” the official wrote.

Western Basin
The Maracaibo Basin is one of the most important oil areas in Venezuela. The oldest and most productive oil fields in the country are located in this basin, and around 33% of the national crude oil production is located in it.
