Delcy Rodríguez said that older adults are guaranteed balanced nutrition with the special CLAP bags. “With the Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Homeland Mission (Maduro) he sought to ensure that they had a good diet, with access to proteins and kept them away from carbohydrates and sugars”
The Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stated this Saturday, October 19, that the ruler Nicolás Maduro has “surprises” in store for older adults.
He highlighted that the government “guarantees” balanced nutrition for the elderly, although they have been waiting for several months for an increase in the pension, which is currently 130 bolivars, equivalent to 3.5 dollars, according to the rate of official exchange rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV).
«Venezuelan state companies are activated to guarantee the people’s right to food, but also in economic and productive activity. Here (we are) with our grandparents with surprises that I know the president (Maduro) has in store for them. We are seeing in the special CLAP bag that has legumes, fruits and proteins, that when the president created the Grandfathers and Grandmothers of the Homeland Mission, he sought precisely for them to have a good balanced diet, with access to proteins and to keep them away from carbohydrates and sugars. », he said from La Candelaria in Caracas.
Last June, Maduro stated that pensions would come “with improvements,” thanks to the new Social Security Pension Protection Law. From that moment on, businessmen began to deposit resources into the fund and the amount collected or its destination is still unknown.
«If in the first five months we see this, that little money that comes in translates into improvement in indexed income, in pensions, we are going to have good news this month of June because the new law hit more than we thought and they are going to go to the improvement,” said the president during a National Council of Productive Economy in the state of Apure.
Since then, pensioners held a series of protests to demand an increase in the benefit, with which they can buy the food and medicine they require, however, to date their claims have not been heard.
During a day of product sales organized by the Food Mission, Delcy Rodríguez also highlighted that in open-air markets food products are sold at “fair and accessible prices.”
