Delcy Rodríguez: Extremism will never again overwhelm young people

The executive vice president of the Republic, Delcy Rodriguezasserted this Tuesday that the extremist sector will not again attack Venezuelan youth as happened in the years of Puntofijismo.

In her statement during the 10th National Congress of the Venezuelan Federation of Secondary Education Students (Feveem) held in Caracas, the Minister for Petroleum also stated that “we will leave our lives so that this past is not repeated again.”

“The extremism that attacks and threatens Venezuela today are those who want that past for our country (…) They will never again attack the young people, the sons, the daughters of Bolívar. They are those surnames that were the owners of Venezuela, who gave the US oil from Venezuela,” he recalled.

Rodríguez warned that this sector seeks to do the same now, and to do so they have agreed “with all kinds of gangs and criminal organizations to hand over our territory (…); with the empires to give up the Essequibo for its riches.”

Furthermore, he stressed that from a non-existent Government they served to steal the country’s resources. “From that false and artificial criminal position they have robbed Venezuela of the assets of our young people,” he expressed and mentioned the cases of the country’s gold in England, Citgo and Monómeros.

Bolivarianism versus Monroism

The vice president stated that the opposition situation with hegemonic centers that have an imperialist conception is not from now, but from the days of Simón Bolívar.

“Bolivarianism versus Monroism. Monroism as a concept and doctrine of territorial expansion of the United States, jurisdictional expansion beyond its borders; and Bolívar’s conception of freedom, independence and sovereignty. We are winning this battle and we have to guarantee that we are going to win it with you at the forefront as the vanguard of youth,” he emphasized.

Likewise, he commemorated the 207 years since Bolívar incorporated the eighth star of Essequibo into the national flag, reiterating the national unity in defense of that territory, which will also be inherited to future generations.

“Why today have empires committed themselves to that territory? Because of its immense energy wealth of oil and gas. That is why we see the Western imperialist parade paying homage to the hitmen of Guyana to steal the oil and gas that belongs to Venezuela, to the Venezuelans. That territory is ours and we have to defend it. We will not allow the dispossession of the territory of Guayana Esequiba,” he assured.

Young people rule in Venezuela

The executive vice president highlighted that young people already govern the country by occupying positions such as ministers, vice ministers, deputies, among others, something that was not possible during the Puntofijismo.

Rodríguez highlighted the importance of having a spirit that does not rest in defending “what we are, for our history, for our present and for the future”, that does not surrender to those who “try to subjugate us, dominate us, violate the sacred sovereignty of this country.” . “That is the spirit of this youth.”

He also asked young people to think about the decades to come for the country, “upholding the doctrine that our liberators bequeathed us and the doctrine that our liberator father Simón Bolívar founded.”

“Today, in the face of this threatened world, we can give a lot. First, raise our voices, and you as young people raise the flags of peace, guarantee and fight for peace. Guarantee that this great threat that looms from those who have assumed technology to subjugate consciences, against humanity, that you assume it with great responsibility”, thinking that technology is not used as a weapon against minds, but to give a contribution to national development and human well-being, he declared.

Likewise, he insisted that the youth inherited from Commander Hugo Chávez a path already advanced that left martyrs, heroes and heroines, and that fortunately today has a president, Nicolás Maduro, who “came from those same struggles, which was forged in the difficulties of the youth of the 70s, 80s, 90s”, and who believed in a different Venezuela.
