Delcy Rodríguez calls for national unity to guarantee peace

The acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, called for national unity to guarantee peace and especially urged all political sectors to put aside differences to preserve the peace and sovereignty of the country, proposing an institutionalized dialogue through the National Council of Sovereignty and Peace as a way to reach agreements and guarantee the stability of the country.

From the day of comprehensive social care deployed in the La Soublet sector of the Catia de la Mar parish in the state of La Guaira, the president in charge emphasized that national unity is a prevailing need to guarantee the peace and tranquility of the Venezuelan people.

He presented the dignity of the people as the “first armor” to preserve the integrity of the nation, ensure territorial integrity and maintain national independence. In this context, he highlighted the leading role that communes and communal circuits have played as fundamental spaces for the preservation of peace.

He affirmed that the government is deployed throughout the national territory, with a particular focus on the areas affected by the attack on January 3 by North American military forces, reaffirming the commitment to the defense of sovereignty.

He made a strong call to overcome political and partisan differences, stating that when it comes to peace in Venezuela, there can be no divisions and the nation must act as “a single national body.”

To materialize the call for unity, the president in charge recalled that she urged the president of the National Assembly to activate all the necessary spaces for a political meeting in Venezuela.

He explained that this call is aimed at all sectors, including opposition groups and the forces of the Great Patriotic Pole and insisted that the objective is that, “from respect for differences, dialogue can be reached and agreements can be reached for the benefit of the people” and he stressed the need to institutionalize politics so that it serves the peace, independence and historical dignity of Venezuela, warning that those who lack this political awareness “are without a compass.”

Rodríguez also described it as “shameful” that Venezuelan citizens are grateful for foreign military aggression, questioning their patriotism by pointing out that the true feeling of the people is the rejection of any act that causes suffering and anguish to the people.

«It is shameful to see a Venezuelan who calls herself Venezuelan go to give thanks for the bombing and foreign military aggression against Venezuela. “I don’t think it’s Venezuelan, because the feeling of the Venezuelan people is the rejection of any type of aggression that causes suffering to our people, that causes anguish in our youth, in our children, I don’t think we can call it Venezuelan,” he expressed.

He recalled his oath of January 5, taken after the “kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and the first lady,” in which he promised to take care of the people, the youth and the children of Venezuela. He stressed that democratic coexistence, accepting the existing diversity and plurality, is a way of caring for each other, united by supreme values such as peace and the independence of the country.

Attention to the people and joint work

During the day, the president in charge toured the Las Casitas sector, located in the Catia La Mar parish of La Guaira state, affected by the attacks on January 3, from where he assured that the national government has been working together with the governor of the entity for two weeks to recover the homes.

«There are people who suffered total loss of their home. Well, I have instructed the teams to immediately find housing to guarantee a roof for our boys and girls. It is the most important thing, and thus being able to heal, heal the wound of anguish left by this attack. “It is very important for the Venezuelan population that feels affected, that still feels the impact, that has anguish, that they know that we are going to social intervention, we are also going to health intervention to guarantee the integrity of physical and mental health, because we know that the people were traumatized, but we also know that the dignity of the Venezuelan people is the first armor we have to preserve our integrity as a people, to guarantee territorial integrity and to preserve national independence,” he expressed.
