Delcy Rodríguez, in charge of the Executive, assured this Tuesday, January 6, that no “external agent” governs Venezuela. The statements arise after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, said on January 3, the day of the capture of Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores, that his administration will be in charge of coordinating a transition.
“We are here governing together with the people, the Government of Venezuela governs our country, no one else, there is no external agent that governs Venezuela,” said the official after installing the commission of the Agri-Food, Fisheries, Communal and Industrial General Staff.
In that same sense, Rodríguez indicated that Venezuelans are active in the streets to demand the release of Maduro and Flores.
«We have grown in strength, we have grown spiritually to face challenges, aggressions, threats. Personally, those who threaten me, I say it: my destiny is not decided but by God, that is my response,” he added.
The person in charge urged Venezuelans to continue working so that in this new year the objectives of the productive sectors are met.
Trump’s demands on Delcy Rodríguez

In an interview with NBCNewsTrump also included his vice president, JD Vance, in the team in charge of Venezuela, although he has remained in the background since a large military and special operations deployment assaulted Caracas on Saturday to capture Maduro and Flores.
When asked who in that group will be the main person responsible for making decisions about Venezuela, Trump limited himself to saying that he will be the one who has the last word.
Rubio explained that those responsible for directing the transition in Venezuela will do so from a “policy” perspective and that it will be an “effort of the entire national security apparatus.”
Trump demanded from Rodríguez “full access” to Venezuela in terms of natural and other resources, while threatening to carry out new attacks on the country if the Government “does not behave.”
