Delcy Rodríguez affirms that the amnesty law is a step towards peace and national understanding

The president in charge, Delcy Rodríguez, positively valued this Saturday the unanimous approval in the first discussion of the amnesty bill by the National Assembly, highlighting that the support of all political forces makes it a key piece of the current Venezuelan institutional framework.

Rodríguez affirmed that this is an initiative of deep political and historical significance, considering that it includes a tradition associated with fundamental moments and leaderships of the country. He noted that the law is conceived as a mechanism aimed at promoting peace and national reconciliation.

“The V of Venezuela must shine forever for the future, for the hope of our people, a free, sovereign and independent Venezuela”he stated.

“It is an amnesty law that should serve for peace and reconciliation in Venezuela, it is the spirit of amnesty that was present in our father, the Liberator Simón Bolívar, but also in the eternal commander, Hugo Chávez, and in the constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, that spirit of the reunion of Venezuelan men and women,” he stated.

He indicated that the purpose of the legal instrument is to reinforce the role of justice as one of the foundations of the Republic and contribute to consolidating democratic coexistence. In that sense, he called to maintain the country’s momentum and continue moving forward through articulation and understanding between the different sectors of society.

Finally, he highlighted the capacity of the Venezuelan people to overcome complex scenarios and maintained that unity must be the response to difficulties. He called to work together for the future of the country and to build conditions that guarantee hope and opportunities for future generations.

“I call on all of Venezuela to march together for the future of Venezuela and to guarantee our sons and daughters hope,” he said.
