Delays lead Conmebol to change women's Libertadores stadium

The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) announced this Saturday (15) that the Women’s Libertadores duels that were scheduled for the Banco Guayaquil Stadium, in Quito, were transferred to the Rodrigo Paz Delgado Stadium (Casa Blanca), also in the capital of Ecuador, the country that has hosted the tournament since last Thursday. The change impacts the upcoming commitments of Ferroviária and Palmeiras, two of the Brazilian representatives in the competition.Delays lead Conmebol to change women's Libertadores stadium

According to the entity, the change is due to the heavy rains that have fallen in the city and the weather forecast that they will not stop. Due to the weather and the condition of the pitch, the first-round games at Independiente del Valle’s Banco Guayaquil were delayed. The Palmeiras debut, for example, against Libertad Limpeño (Paraguay), last Friday (14), was interrupted in the initial stage. On Thursday, the duel between Boca Juniors (Argentina) and Defensor Sporting (Uruguay) was paralyzed for two hours.
