A machine that was working on the remodeling works of the Buenos Aires Airport cut a telecommunications link cable, so the process of check-in is being done manually and the flight departure is delayedreported from Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 (AA2000).
“There was a contingency with a backhoe of a contractor working on the works in the area south of the Airport and cut a fiber optic cable. This produced a drop in connectivity of data in the airport system. There is already a crew from the internet service provider company working for the repair”, they explained from AA2000 through a statement.
The incident was recorded shortly after 3:00 p.m. this Friday and as soon as it originated, the tasks for its resolution began, although airport sources told Télam that for the time being there is no estimate of the time in which it will be operational again.
The sources added that “at the moment the delays are minimal, but in the event that the problem is not resolved shortly, it could cause delays in flight departures, due to the difficulties involved in manual check-in.”
