The Government Minister, Eduardo Del Castillo, described as “criminal” the strike that Santa Cruz is serving for the sixth day and blamed Governor Fernando Camacho for generating shortages in the main supply points. Regarding the national meeting for the census that will take place this Friday in Cochabamba, he said that four security rings around the Avanti hotel, in Cala Cala.
“Food first for the Bolivian people”
The Minister of Government urged that the representative from Santa Cruz reflects and attends the ‘plurinational meeting for the census in consensus’ organized by the Executive, tomorrow, in Cochabamba. Likewise, he maintained that this is an atypical day, where the eastern capital little by little recovers normality in its activities.
“Those who are generating this problem of shortages are Mr. Camacho and his entire company, which they are with a criminal strike that is generating hunger and pain in the families of Santa Cruz. Let’s give love to the people of Santa Cruz and let’s stop this senseless strike, “he said at a press conference.
He defended the restriction on the export of basic necessities, such as meat, oil, sugar and soybeans, emphasizing that “food for the Bolivian people must be guaranteed first”anticipating that the provision will be lifted once domestic supply is assured.
“We have to stop lying to ourselves. the word fence is misused, we have seen that the strike is not a strike, it is a blockade throughout the national territory. We have an average of more than 70 blockade points throughout the department, roads are being blocked and we have heard that those people who have joined are not in favor of the governor’s position, but rather maintain that if the poor do not have food , the rich will not have it either ”, he argued.
According to Del Castillo, the Government does not support any of the pressure measures being carried out in the country and said that the actions of the Police “impartial”this in the face of complaints that maintain that they repress those who stop and march demanding the census for 2023and not against the violent groups related to the MAS.
