Octavio José Rojas Martínez (El Fiebre), who, commanding a criminal cell, was killed on the grounds of the Aguaro-Guariquito National Park, Juan José Rondón municipality (Las Mercedes del Llano), Guárico state.
According to reports collected, two other subjects who were part of the criminal gang were also killed and were identified as Johan Manuel Canache (El Canache) and Raúl José Ruíz Ortega (El Bebe).
These subjects confronted members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), assigned to the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas) who were deployed on the occasion of Operation Zaraza-Tucupido, one of the nine operations that the Operational Strategic Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb) maintains active against structured groups that generate violence.
After being injured, they were taken to a health center located in Santa Rita de Manapire (Guárico), where they were admitted without vital signs.
At the site of the confrontation, the military collected three rifles (AR-15 caliber 5.56X45 mm, AR-15 caliber 7.62x39mm and AK-103 caliber 7.62×39 mm) as well as 104 unfired cartridges of different calibers.
Five days ago there was also a confrontation in the vicinity of the Aguaro-Guariquito National Park, resulting in the death of three known by the nicknames El 88, El Guerrillero and El Flaco.
The El Fiebre gang was dedicated to charging vaccines in dollars from medium and small producers in Guárico and part of Apure, according to Conas investigations, from where they link that group with the Tren del Llano structure, in the process of dismantling.
