According to the agreed terms, López would receive a sentence of seven years, one month and 12 days in prison, in addition to reintegrating 724 million pesos to the State.
For its part, the penalty for Pinilla would be sentenced to six years, six months and nine days in prison, along with the restitution of 618 million pesos.

However, the defenses of the former directors assured thatThe Prosecutor’s Office must guarantee compliance with the principle of opportunity for their clients, a mechanism that could further reduce sanctions in exchange for their collaboration with justice.
Lawyer José Moreno, defender of Olmedo López, highlighted that the evidence presented in the process has been compelling, which has allowed new accusations. “We hope that the principle of opportunity agreed with the Prosecutor’s Office is fulfilled and they do not make us a rabbit,” Moreno pointed out.
Similarly, Gustavo Moreno, Sneyder Pinilla’s lawyer, called on the Prosecutor’s Office to ensure the application of the principle of opportunity, “It is the only thing that can guarantee that the country and the judicial courts know the truth about those who were involved in the embezzlement of the Risk Management Unit,” he commented.

In addition to the pre-agreements reached with López and Pinilla, the Prosecutor’s Office signed four other judicial benefits for the contractor; Luis Eduardo López Rosero, the former advisor; Pedro Andrés Rodríguez Melo, the unit’s former knowledge director; Luis Carlos Barreto and the lawyer Édgar Eduardo Riveros Rey.
Their lawyers also appeared at the Prosecutor’s Office to talk with the victims about the pre-agreements and based on confirmation, they will be presented before a judge in charge who will endorse or deny the legal conditions.
