“They did it in good faith, due to previous inexperience in complex processes like this, although later they have been regularizing the situation before the Servel and the differences are being claimed to the Tricel. What this does show is that, with the documents that I have seen, no undue money has gone into his pocket,” Manriquez told Emol.

In addition, the jurist pointed out that “the surrender of Karina Oliva in the first round is approved and the second round is partially approved by the Servel with reliable data that accounts for real services provided by audited providers.”

“There is a claim before the TRICEL for the latter and all the relevant information has been sent to the Prosecutor’s Office. It is false that Karina Oliva has requested tax reimbursement for 600 million pesos for the second round, since the legal maximum was 101 million,” complement.

Knowledge by the SII

The defense attorney also highlighted that the Internal Revenue Service (SII) is fully aware of one of the electoral events that generated the most controversy for Oliva, such as the feminist breakfast. “(The SII) certified that there are no invoices rendered for a supposed breakfast of 50 million pesos, an issue that has also been ratified by the Servel”, he pointed out.

Under that point, he explained that “more than 240 pages of receipts of real services, provided and at market value have been delivered, which were provided, analyzed and validated by the Servel to approve in stages the surrenders made.”

“I reiterate that Karina Oliva has not received electoral reimbursement for the second round of the election to the Regional Government, and that the payment corresponding to the bank credit approved by Servel has not been made effective either,” he closed.
