The defense of Bruno Villalobos asked to summon the general director of Carabineros, Ricardo Yáñez, and generals Hermes Soto and Mario Rozas, in the framework of the “Reserved Expenses” case where the retired official is formalized for embezzlement of public funds and falsification of public instrument .
The action was presented by the lawyer Ángel Valencia and seeks that the aforementioned uniformed officers explain if they received funds for reserved expenses during their period in charge of the police institution. In addition, it is requested that the amounts and delivery procedures of said funds be detailed, in the event that this has actually occurred.

The action presented by the defense of Villalobos also includes the other holders of High Distribution of Carabineros between the years 2015 and 2018.
The investigation of the so-called “Reserved Expenses” case indicated that Villalobos would have appropriated $606 million, between 2015 and 2018, of which $67 million went to his own benefit. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the delivery of the money for expenses reserved by the Carabineros was received in paper envelopes, first monthly and then quarterly.
On January 10, the Fifth Chamber of the Court of Appeals of Santiago estimated total house arrest for the former general director of Carabineros, Bruno Villalobos, after the precautionary measure of preventive detention for the same case was revoked.
