The host boxer reached his fifteenth victory in 21 presentations thanks to favorable votes of 78-74 and 77-74, while the Cuban got the support of one of the judges with 78-74 on his ballot.
For Veitía, world champion in 2017, this was the first fight in the professional boxingand his presentation closed the fights of the members of the franchise in these circuits, which began last May.
A month earlier, the Cuban Boxing Federation had reached an agreement agreement with the Mexican promoter Golden Ring for the representation of amateur fighters in rented boxing, which marked a new stage for this sport on the Island.

From then on they were linking a successful chain in organized evenings in Mexico, Argentina and Bolivia, although bad news also arrived with the abandonment of two boxers from the team.
The first of them was Billy Rodríguez from Havana, who debuted in Baja California with a victory, but later decided to disassociate of the Cuban Federation to continue his professional career in the United States.
He was followed by Osvel Caballero, world bronze medalist, whose determination of not returning to Cuba came after his third success in professional fights, when he defeated the local Gerson “Tigre” Escobar by unanimous vote in Aguascalientes.
That outcome, which occurred on November 1, was the 15th consecutive victory for the Cuba Tamers, a streak that just ended in Ciudad Juárez.
