Decomposing corpses found in Putumayo would be victims of clashes between illegal groups

The coordinator of the Putumayo Human Rights Network, Yuri Sirleny Quinteroassured that the decomposing corpses that were found in the rural area of ​​Puerto Guzmán, Puerto Caicedo and the border with Puerto Asís (Putumayo), would be the product of clashes between criminal gangs who commit crimes in that region.

In dialogue with RCN WorldQuintero pointed out that It has not been possible to quantify the bodies found because they appeared in a fragmented manner in different places and he called on the authorities in Colombia and the international community, for a fact check.

“We as the Human Rights Network have learned that the inhabitants of the communities affected by this situation have expressed about the presence of several bodies. We have not been able to determine figures, because they are also actions that apparently occurred in several municipalities (. ..)”, said.

He also noted that they have received community complaints “who are horrified by the fearsome discovery” and odors that are generated by decomposing bodies.
