It all started with a message on Facebook. The promise of an “all-inclusive” trip out of Haiti became the starting point of a criminal scheme that ended with the murder of three womenwhose mutilated bodies were thrown into the cane riverin the border zone between Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
According to information obtained by Free Diarythe victims were lured with the offer of illegal trips to different countries, which included documents and transportation, in exchange for just two thousand gourdes.
He initial contact was carried out through the social networkwhere those responsible gained their trust before coordinating the meetings.
Once proposal acceptedthe women came with their belongings and remained under the control of the aggressors during several days.
During that time, they were stripped of their money and personal belongings, before being abused and murdered. Later, their bodies were thrown into the cane rivera tributary that separates both countries.
Three victims, one boss
The cases present similarities both in the form of recruitment and in the final destination of the victims, which allowed authorities to identify a common pattern.
The deaths occurred on November 29 of 2025, the January 3 and the January 17 of 2026.
Two of the bodies were found haitian side of the river, while one appeared in dominican territoryin the Elías Piña province.

The spokesperson for the National PoliceColonel Diego Pesqueira, clarified that, although one of the bodies was found on Dominican soil, the crimes occurred in haitian territory.

As part of the investigations, the Ministry of Defense informed the detention of a Haitian citizen in the border zone of Elías Piña, identified for his alleged connection with the events.
It is about Chin Ladusewho was found hidden in bushes on the banks of the cane riveraccompanied by a minor, also Haitian, whom he identified as his son.
Likewise, the National Police keeps the search active Yandel Shadelidentified as one of the alleged leaders of the structure and preliminarily linked to one of the homicides, an aspect that is still under investigation.
