Santo Domingo.– The General Directorate of Information and Defense of Social Security Affiliates (DIDA) detected 1,855 improper charges in health services, which made it possible to avoid payments of more than 56.7 million pesos to users during the first year of management of its general director, Elías Báez.
In addition, the institution identified more than 419 million pesos belonging to deceased members that remained in accounts of Pension Fund Administrators (AFP), resources that correspond to more than 10 thousand Dominican families.
More than a million assists in one year
During that same period, DIDA offered 1 million 243 thousand assists in cases of health, pensions and occupational risks, strengthening its citizen advocacy work in the social security system.
Among the initiatives implemented, the program stands out “GIVE 24 Hours With You”which provides permanent attention through telephone and social networks, and the creation of “Diana”a virtual assistant that optimizes response times with the use of artificial intelligence.
Institutional expansion and modernization
The entity also launched the “DIDA Route”bringing its services to vulnerable communities in the country, modernized its headquarters and provincial offices, and strengthened institutional transparency through digitalization and strengthening cybersecurity.
Báez highlighted that these efforts seek to guarantee a more humane, accessible and efficient service for the system’s members.
International presence and upcoming projects
At the international level, DIDA achieved a unprecedented participation in forums of the Ibero-American Social Security Organization (OISS) and the Inter-American Conference on Social Security (CISS), where Baez He was elected vice president of the Social Legal Commission.
Future projects include the creation of the Social Security School, the expansion of services to the Dominican diaspora and new programs to measure and improve the quality of the system’s services.
