Environment Minister Susana Muhamad brings to the World Economic Forum the proposal to exchange doubt for nature. This is an alternative to have resources to finance adaptationmitigation, as well as attention to losses and damages caused by the effects of the climate crisis.

“In Davos we are going to work on strategic issues. A proposal from Colombia, strengthened by what happened in Egypt and what is taking place in the world discussion, is how we enable large-scale financing to achieve a 45% reduction in emissions in 7 years and significant progress in adaptation, above all in non-industrialized countriessaid Minister Muhamad.
In the same way, among the plans of the Government, in the World Economic Forum that is taking place in Switzerland with heads of State, world leaders and international organizations, is to present proposals to face the climate crisis, promote the energy transition and the different actions to achieve Total Peace.

“The ecological and energy transition is required with a multilateral commitment that changes the financial systems that, on the contrary, end up suffocating more, economically, the countries that are suffering climate devastation,” said Muhamad.
Along with this, the Colombian delegation will call for progress in financing the energy transition, which not only take into account the change in the energy matrixbut the effects of fiscal replacement and the trade balance.
“We are going to work around the international financial system, the climate crisis and how we should adapt free trade agreements so that they respond to the priorities of the climate crisis”, specified the Minister.
