As the final date for payment of the second installment of the thirteenth salary approaches, in December 20thdebt settlement campaigns accelerate publicity and the active search for customers.
Between October and November there were three high-volume fairs: that of the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) and the consumer.gov.br platform, which ran until the end of November; that of Serasa, in partnership with Correios, which ends on December 20th; and the promoted by Proconswhich will run until January 17th.
A partial balance released by Serasa this Monday (16) recorded 180 thousand negotiations per day in this 32nd edition of the fair, which began on November 28, with 9.5 million agreements to date. On November 29th, a peak of 458 thousand negotiated agreements was recorded, a record for the institution in its debt negotiation fairs.
The majority of debts negotiated were related to companies in the financial sector, with 24.07% of debts with Securitization Companies and 23.07% with Banks and Finance Companies, closely followed by Telecommunications Companies, with 21.51% of debts negotiated. A survey by the National Trade Confederation estimates that in November, 29.4% of families they had debts.
Negotiations can be done virtually, via the company’s website, which warns of fraud, or in person, at post offices, which included 10 thousand units in the campaign. The company’s previous survey on the intention to use the thirteenth debit indicated that 31% of those who planned their expenses with this source intended to use it to pay off debts. The projection is that 2 million debts will be paid off with these amounts. According to the Inter-Union Department of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies (Dieese), the extra salary will inject R$321.4 billion into the economy this year. On average, each worker should receive R$3,096.78, adding the two installments.
