Death toll rises after landslide in Risaralda

The death toll after the landslide in Risaralda, which buried a bus, rose to 27 people, while the rescue efforts continue and new bodies could be found, President Gustavo Petro reported Monday.

“It is with sadness that I must announce that so far 27 people, including 3 minors, have lost their lives in the tragedy of Pueblo Rico, Risaralda,” Petro said on his Twitter account, updating a figure that until this morning, according to the National Unit for Risk and Disaster Management (UNGRD), was 11 people.

According to the latest UNGRD bulletin, they had managed to identify 7 bodies and there were also 5 injured people receiving care at the Hospital de Pueblo Rico and San Jorge in Pereira.
