Today (16) is the deadline for radio and television broadcasters, in debt to the Ministry of Communications, to request payment in installments of the public broadcasting price. The deadline applies only to tickets that have already expired. In the case of outstanding debts, the deadline for the bill is valid.
The debts, according to the ministry, cover “legal entities that won the bidding process for the sound broadcasting service or sound and image broadcasting service; entities that are adapting the concession of sound broadcasting service in medium waves (OM) to modulated frequency (FM); or those that are altering the technical characteristics of the station’s operation – increase in power or change of installation location outside the granting municipality”.
According to the Ministry of Communications, those who have already applied and have not been rejected do not need to apply again. If the ticket has not yet been issued, there is no need to request the payment in installments.
How to pay
In a note released by the ministry, the director of the Innovation, Regulation and Inspection Department, Otávio Caixeta, explained that this payment can be made either in a single installment, or in up to 10 years, in the case of radio, or 15 years, in the case of TV.
“Overdue slips can lead to penalties, such as enrolling in the active debt, in the Informative Register of Unpaid Credits of the Federal Public Sector (Cadin), in addition to other blocks at the Ministry and Anatel”, he said, emphasizing that those who request installments within the deadline will not incur penalties.
